Mercedes-Benz 600, W100
This model is well known for luxury and innovative solutions adopted. It is also known to be a vehicle extremely expensive and complex. Also the woodwork is high-quality, and all the numerous pieces have a complex shape.
On this W100 car was made a partial intervention that involved windscreen profiles, sub-windscreen, doorcaps, pillar covers and others. In this case, it was necessary a particular attention to the first three millimeter of the plywood that form the base of the sub-windscreen. The California Walnut burl was then artificially oxidized to make it appears more similar to the original.
All the new veneers were laid according to the Mercedes-Benz techniques. This work must be performed at a maniacal attention for the preparation of veneers. It was absolutely necessary bend and shape with steam all the veneers before gluing. These steps are required in order to prevent cracks and fissures not easy to hide.
These models are very often made with high value veneers, that are very difficult to find for both the aesthetic characteristics and the huge dimension required.
